I bring to the table extensive blue-chip Accounting/Finance experience with most of my time spent in larger organizations. My first job out of College (University of Maryland, College Park) was at Grant Thornton, where I first developed an appreciation for the impact good financial work and acumen can have on a company’s overall performance. From there, I went on to a 9-year stint in corporate finance at Colgate Palmolive, where I worked for multiple divisions, and garnered invaluable hands-on experience. After a brief hiatus from work to begin a family, I returned to the world of finance, first as a Consultant to a local gym, and later (in my most recent role) to Atlantis Healthcare, where I lead all US financial reporting, accounting, budgeting, forecasting, cash management, profitability, and utilization activities.In addition to the suite of tools that you would expect to accompany this career path, there are other valuable attributes that I have picked up along the way, namely:A self-starter with proven leadership skillsA problem-solver who perseveres through unforeseen obstacles and red tape Adaptability to a rapidly changing world, professional environmentAn ongoing commitment to fostering improvement by learning and applying new skills, & tactical approaches And then, there are the intangibles that I pride myself on. In the same way that a sports team that can overcome a shortage of talent by playing well together, a team-driven approach to the “daily grind” can do amazing things! I’ve seen it first-hand.
