My role involves coordinating the process of organ donation, this starts with speaking with the donor family. Then working with physicians and nurses through Brain Death testing/declaration and educating the clinical staff about Organ Donation and the processes involved. Once consented I manage all of the Donor’s care and write all orders in the ICU while on the ventilator. At the same time allocating organs while coordinating the OR with multiple transplant surgeons then taking the Donor to the OR for organs to be procured which results in multiple lives saved, the gift of life.As a contractor I have worked in the largest cities across the United States in coordination with 100 plus hospitals.
