Over the years, I’ve worked hard to deliver meaningful results—like a 38% drop in human error incidents, $779K in annual cost savings, and a 55% decrease in Corrective and Preventative Actions.HOW I DO IT: As a quality and compliance leader with a Six Sigma Black Belt, I know that half of the equation is the strategies and ideas for process improvements, while the other half is getting stakeholders on board with effective cross-functional leadership.That second part is often the hardest and the reason why initiatives fail, so I’ve made it my mission to foster trust and cooperation between quality and operations leaders.By building strong relationships and influencing stakeholders, we can drive change that increases compliance, reduces expenses, and improves quality culture. That’s my big motivator: seeing positive change that comes from my work.MY BACKGROUND: I actually started out in the life sciences industry began as a Microbiologist. While working in labs, I became curious about QA and compliance functions. My scientific mind appreciated the way quality procedures flow logically, and I was also drawn to the opportunity for company-wide collaboration, leadership, and diverse responsibilities—plus, I love learning new things! In addition to learning, I also enjoy teaching and training. In my spare time, I have been a trainer for Magna International’s leadership program (as a contractor for Humber College).
