Oversee key operations and strategy for a four-person team, managing a $300-500K annual budget and grants pipeline, and managing across multiple projects; Helped to refine and implement a 3-5 year vision for Ecotrust’s work in food system reform; Responsible for talent acquisition and deployment.Leveraged farm to school expertise to expand and scale local foods procurement beyond schools to other institutions by launching the NW Food Buyer’s Alliance (www.food-hub.org/nwfba); Oversaw the development and creation of website measuring the impact of farm to school in Oregon: www.oregonfarmtoschool.org; Developed and institutionalized a program that matches colleagues at random over casual lunches to build relationships and cross-pollinate ideas and work.

Oversaw a three-person team, a $200-300K annual budget, fundraising and all projects for the Farm to School initiative at Ecotrust.As Farm to Preschool Specialist for the National Farm to School Network (NFSN), helped build the national farm to preschool (F2P) movement from the ground up and executed the first national survey of F2P programs.As Western Regional Lead for the NFSN, managed State Leads in an 8-state region.Helped secure $1.2M per biennium for farm to school and school garden programs in Oregon as co-lead for the Oregon Farm to School Policy workgroup.Launched and led the first statewide Farm to Preschool Coalition in the nation in 2012.

Piloted one of the first farm to childcare projects in the nation in 2008-09. Worked to connect buyers and sellers of regional food (with a focus on school food service) using Ecotrust’s online tool, FoodHub. Assisted school districts and other institutions across the region in developing procurement methods and market relationships necessary to procure locally grown foods. Built a team of leads and coordinated farm to school activities in the western region of the National Farm to School Network; contributed to seminal research on the economic impact of farm to school in Oregon; helped to organize legislative solutions to institutionalizing farm-to-school and school gardens; supported the development and implementation of Harvest of the Month promotional materials; connected with school garden educators, and other relevant stakeholders. Responsibilities included project planning and evaluation, grant writing, and presentations.
