About Stacey Mccullough

I'm early-retired! (At least for now...?) I'm constructing crosswords, having had a New York Times publication and a couple of collaborations in the LA Times. I'm serving on the Pelham Planning Board and Friends of the Library, helping build sets for Amherst Community Theater, and enjoying lots of walks in the Western MA woods. As a design thinker and user experience leader, I conceived and spearheaded efforts to:-immerse with users to understand their practices, motivations, pain-points, and needs.-synthesize learnings into opportunity areas and design strategies.-support the opportunities and strategies with a clear, galvanizing story.-collaborate with designers to envision desirable offerings. I have decades of experience in design thinking and innovation, including six years at IDEO, the premier firm for human-centered design. There, I headed up Boston's design research craft group, and led work for a wide range of consumer, industrial, and medical clients. I transitioned to Pearson, the world's largest learning company, to focus on education. At Pearson, I established user-driven, front-end innovation, and propagated both processes and outcomes to dozens of colleagues across the company's lines of business. While still especially prizing efforts that involve children's wellbeing and holistic development, I broadened out once again to conduct design strategy projects for clients across a variety of fields.I'm especially known for:-questioning premises.-sharing perceptive insights.-wrangling complexity.-championing user needs. Please reach me here or via gmail, where I'm staceyYmccullough.
