I am currently a Manager at New Markets Advisors, a Boston-based strategy and innovation consulting firm, where I head up our EU office in Lisbon, Portugal. With a background in international business, I specialize in identifying whitespace opportunities, developing new products, and crafting strategies driven by consumer behavior research and inspired by successful global analogs.Having spent time working with start-ups both domestically and abroad, I bring experience navigating new and uncertain markets to my work as a consultant. Since joining New Markets Advisors, I've built concrete strategies in everchanging spaces through the right combination of creativity, research, and analytics. I've also spent time developing go-to-market plans to help organizations bring products to new geographies and accomplish larger strategic goals in the process. I've worked to uncover unmet customer needs, craft breakthrough strategies, and support long-term product and business model innovation for organizations across healthcare, adtech, insurtech, CPG, retail, and entertainment. I started my career with start-ups in Boston and Singapore, working in business development and market research. In addition to my entrepreneurial experiences, I was a Junior Research Fellow at Value Technology Foundation, where I conducted blockchain application research in both the public and private sectors. An American raised in Shanghai, China, I speak English and Mandarin Chinese. My childhood and time spent abroad has made effective cross-cultural communication, particularly within organizations in the business world, a major interest of mine. I graduated summa cum laude from Northeastern University with a B.S. in International Business and concentrations in Marketing Analytics and Strategy. While studying in Boston, I was a member of Northeastern University's varsity men's soccer team for five years. In addition to my degree from Northeastern University, I have a certificate from East China Normal University after studying Chinese culture and society in Shanghai.
