Provide occupational therapy services utilizing equine movement (hippotherapy).

Completed supervised teaching hours for Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor (CTRI) certification, teaching horseback riding skills to small groups of adults and/or children, with adaptations as needed, based on each individuals needs.

Volunteer as horse leader and side walker in hippotherapy and therapeutic riding classes, help to train new volunteers, and assist the Mini Troopers team with outreach. Recognized as Volunteer of the Month in January 2012, February 2013, and April 2015; also awarded Volunteer of the Year for 2015.

8 week fieldwork experience for OTA Associates consisting of providing neuro re-education, ADL re-training, and caregiver education to help patients with brain and spinal cord injuries increase their independence in daily activities.

8 week fieldwork experience for OTA Associates consisting of treatment planning for patients with a variety of orthopedic and neurological diagnoses; as well as patient care including upper extremity strengthening and home exercise program instruction, neuro re-education, ultrasound, e-stim, and diathermy application, and ADL training/retraining.

Interned in the Integrated Services department under the Special Education teacher, working with children with special needs in Kindergarten through 2nd Grade.

Assisted in activities, outings, and group therapy for adults with disabilities.
