With over 30 years of experience in data analytics and business intelligence, I am passionate about making complex data concepts accessible and practical for everyone, especially those who consider themselves non-technically inclined. For most of those years, I also honed my skills as an instructor, developing an approach that is hands-on and practical and ensuring that what you learn can be immediately applied to your work. I've been helping people use data to support business decisions long before terms like "business intelligence" and "data analytics" were widely recognized. My career began with installing computer systems at tractor dealerships across North America in the '80s and teaching staff how to navigate these early green-screen systems. Even then, clients sought more from their data, leading me to figure out how to dig out the data hidden behind canned reports. I officially started my career in business intelligence in 1999. Since then, I have developed hundreds of BI and analytics solutions for a diverse range of clients in companies large and small. I continue this work today with a special focus on teaching others how to create these solutions themselves.
