Stacia's journey at the Ohio History Connection (formerly the Ohio Historical Society) began in 2000. Over this tenure, she has held pivotal positions, including Director of the Outreach Division, Interim Director of American Indian Relations, and Chief Operating Officer (current position) demonstrating her adaptability and expertise in diverse areas. Stacia's professional journey is underpinned by a set of competencies that have consistently propelled her to success. Her role as a collaborative thought-partner within the organization and the wider field has fostered innovative solutions and holistic approaches to issues facing the museum field. Moreover, Stacia is celebrated as a self-aware, empathetic, and intentional leader who inspires and guides her team towards meaningful achievements.One of Stacia's distinguishing traits is her uncanny ability to discern opportunity in adversity. Where others might see insurmountable challenges, Stacia recognizes the potential for growth and transformation. As a systems thinker, she delves deep into the root causes of issues, addressing them comprehensively and ensuring long-lasting solutions.She has presented and published for several organizations including the American Association of State and Local History, the American Alliance of Museums, the National Council for History Education, the Midwest Archives Conference, and the Teaching American History Project Directors’ Conference. Stacia also has extensive grant writing experience and has received funding from a variety of national, state and local foundations and granting agencies. Stacia finds humor in the absurd which professionally translates to a love of seemingly incongruent partnerships and ideas which, on the surface may seem, well, odd. Stacia enjoys crocheting while watching the Golden Girls, sassy earrings, homesteading, and an unnatural affection for our 27th president, William Howard Taft.
