I am currently pursuing a PhD in Microbiology & Immunology, complementing my foundation with a Master's degree in Chemistry. My research focuses on identifying and characterizing molecular mechanisms contributing to the microoxic growth of pathogenic bacteria.With a strong background in chemistry, I have contributed to impactful research projects at the University of New Hampshire and Dartmouth College. I specialize in organic synthesis, small molecule characterization, protein expression, purification, and in vitro characterization. Notably, I have recently published a paper characterizing a protein that is necessary for Pseudmonas aeruginosa microoxic fitness.My skill set encompasses proficiency in analytical chemistry techniques including 1D and 2D NMR spectroscopy and HPLC, molecular biology and cloning, in vitro oxygen binding assays, flow cytometry, and data analysis using R Studio. I possess a deep understanding of microbial metabolism and growth under oxidative stress conditions and I am able to use my background in chemistry to add to my understanding of these processes on a more mechanistic level. I am driven by a passion for making a positive impact and aspire to lead a team of scientists with shared goals within the biotech industry. My goal is to leverage my diverse background in chemistry and biology to tackle pressing societal challenges.I am eager to connect with professionals in the biotech industry.
