I oversaw Reference Services, a department within Public Services that supports the information needs of the Biola community. My responsibilities included managing the student workers needed to staff the Information Desk, providing reference assistance for the Biola Archives & Special Collections, and guiding the Biola community in their research through instruction and in-depth consultations.

I teach instruction sessions on library resources and academic research. These sessions are taught to students ranging from first years to doctoral students. I additionally assist patrons at the Reference Desk. These questions can include simple policy questions, complex research questions, technical issues, or patron support.I serve as liaison to certain departments (History, Political Science, and the School of Education), which entails student support and collection development. I run the social media accounts for the Biola Library. I plan and coordinate outreach events, such as Finals Week Stress Relief. I also serve as the coordinating librarian for the Biola University Archives and Special Collections. I provide archival reference for researchers, actively participate in the policy decisions and collection development of the Archives and Special Collections, and handle donations.

I worked with digital and physical records to compile data and create metadata records for in-house research database. I additionally solved archival and informational data inconsistencies and was responsible for cleaning up/standardizing existing metadata within said database.

I provided research assistance for complex research questions, in addition to answering informational questions about library history and resources.

I created original and copy cataloging records of books, legal documents, and DVDs for addition to the Research Library collection.

I created original cataloging records of print material from a separate existing collection for addition to Lucasfilm’s library catalog. Additionally, I performed production research for a motion picture.

I checked materials in and out, shelved materials, and ensured that the Circulation Desk ran smoothly.

I led an archival reorganization of an Oral History Project on the history of the Santa Barbara Museum of Art. This improved the preservation of print and audiovisual materials essential to the SBMA Oral History Project, and improved user access by creating access points to previously unavailable materials.
