In this position, I teach educational technology and other Education courses, including History and Philosophy of Education Freshman Year Experience. I am also a Faculty Fellow within our Honors College and advise and mentor students at various levels during their education experience. Because of my experience as a Quality Matters certified master reviewer, I also provide informal mentorship to faculty colleagues on issues of teaching and learning, and engage in research and scholarship of teaching and learning projects across all disciplines. Formerly headed the Office of Learning Technology as part of Purdue North Central, a formal training program for faculty that included support for all levels of educational technology on our campus. After the institution became Purdue University Northwest, I turned my attention primarily to my students in the School of Education and Counseling and in the Honors College.

I teach instructional design and technology at the graduate and undergraduate levels, including courses in Web design and multimedia, instructional design, distance education, and human issues in instructional technology management. Also serve local charter school, the Hammond Academy of Science and Technology, as technology integration coach and administrative liaison. I was promoted to Associate Clinical Professor from Assistant in 2011, and I assumed leadership of the Instructional Technology Master's Program in summer of 2013. I will continue to advise students and assist in teaching courses within the program through spring of 2015.

Indiana Writers' Consortium inspires and builds a community of creative writers. We are the premier group in Northwest Indiana dedicated to educating writers from the ground up through speakers, seminars, and our annual Steel Pen Creative Writers' Conference. I serve as chair of the board of directors, leading opportunities for education and networking for writers in all stages of their careers. Our members and associate members include teachers and health care professionals, lawyers and full-time writers. Membership is open to unpublished as well as published writers. Although our members primarily live and work in Northwest Indiana, we welcome full members from any part of the state, out-of-state associate members who have significant literary ties to Indiana, and student members who live or attend school in Indiana. IWC is a nonprofit organization incorporated in Indiana in 2008. It is also a public charity under section 501(c)(3) of the United States Internal Revenue Code.

Westville, Indiana

Lead the board of directors in furthering the mission for the Independent Cat Society, a non-profit organization supporting up to 250 cats in a no-kill shelter. Responsible for setting agendas, calling and conducting meetings, and ensuring that committees are set and reports communicated properly. Also assists other board members in making fundraising and operational decisions that impact the shelter, its cats, and the organization's over 200 members. Term begins January 1, 2013 and ends December 31, 2016.

I manage the website, Twitter feed, and other communications directives for the Indiana chapter of Learning Forward, an international organization focused on professional learning for all educators. As a member of the Learning Forward Indiana board of directors, I work with other board members from around the state to advocate for K-12 education and the need for quality, meaningful professional development at all levels.

Responsible for rotating morning shifts weekly of medicating and feeding approximately 200 cats at the Independent Cat Society no-kill shelter. Managed various veterinary tasks including subcutaneous fluids, oral medications, and prescription diets for feline residents. Also responsible for making and reporting medical-related observations, recommending veterinarian visits, and working closely with other cat care staff on health-related issues at the shelter.
