The National Institute of Justice’s (NIJ) Law Enforcement Advancing Data and Science (LEADS) Scholars: - Increase the research capabilities of law enforcement professionals and agencies. - Empower law enforcement to integrate research into policies and practices. - Advance evidence-based policing by supporting the development of research-minded law enforcement professionals.

Serve as an executive team member responsible for all aspects of the Training Division, including budget, staffing, vision/philosophy, and daily operations. Collaborates with stakeholders on statewide initiatives. Partner with constituents to ensure needs are met. Engage in the legislative and state budget processes. Engage in contemporary public safety initiatives at the national level.

Oversee the Training Division, including basic training for police, corrections, parole & probation, telecom, and liquor/marijuana regulatory specialists. Oversee regional and advanced police training and the Center for Policing Excellence.

Lead the agency's mission toward evidence-based policing. Oversee the research team, curriculum/ program development team, instructor development, behavioral health training, Statistical Analysis of Policing (STOP) program, equity training, and multi-disciplinary leadership academies.

Develop 21st-century public safety training academy programming: curriculum, instructional material, program structure, and learning/performance assessment. Conduct statewide training needs assessments,facilitate collaborative stakeholder workgroups, and conduct training evaluations. Develop and deliver instructor development trainingManage grants: Manage grant funds, review, approve, and issue micro-grant funding to statewide public safety partners, provide technical support in the application of research to solve a community problem to grant recipients, and conduct quarterly grant reporting.

Coordinate Basic Academy training (Parole & Probation, Police, Corrections), manage recruit cohorts, deliver course instruction, and develop training curriculum.
