Responsible for advancing our customer and clinician experience through human-centered design, building engaging experiences online and offline to meet people where they are, based on motivation and expectations. Leading a team of experience strategists, researchers, product managers and designers in the delivery of new products, solutions, and digital experiences that help customers and clinicians engage in health.

Our team partnered with our customers, employees, and caregivers to understand the most critical needs in the health care journey, allowing us to help transform health care by designing strategies, tools, measurement, and experiences that would improve those journeys.

Responsible for developing and executing the enterprise digital vision, end-to-end strategy, and digital roadmap for Highmark Health.

Led a team of 25 internal resources and multiple agencies to deliver digital strategy, user experience design, social media, digital product distribution, and offline content for Highmark's Pennsylvania, Delaware, and West Virginia health insurance markets.

Responsible for managing team of user interface designers, content coordinators, and content management resources supporting Highmark’s digital presence across multiple brands and audiences. Implemented a user-centered design process into Highmark's delivery schedule, which included standing up an internal design function with external agency support, educating stakeholders and leadership on the design methodology and its benefits, and working closely with delivery teams in operations and IT to fit user feedback into an already tight development lifecycle.

Responsible for day-to-day management of 50 analysts and testers delivering detailed functional requirements, content management, and testing for large-scale, cross-functional strategic initiatives impacting Highmark’s employer, producer, and consumer portals across multiple brands.

Developed marketing strategies for Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield’s member portal, in addition to planning new projects, supporting senior staff in product development, working with vendors to supply content, and writing site content.

Served as a visiting poet to area high schools to present readings and direct workshops.

Taught Freshman Composition and Literary Experience, served on departmental and university-wide committees, co-advised student English groups, and organized various events including conferences, readings, and fund-raisers. Lead annual university-sponsored Women's Conference Essay Contest, coordinating submissions, judging panel, and awards presentation.

Taught creative writing to high school students attending summer arts academy.
