I have completed 20 years in the US Navy. During this time I have amassed over 4,200 hours on the P-3C and over 200 hours on the P-8A. I have learned much from my time at my various commands. After excelling in my first command, I went on to instructor duty. I enjoyed teaching immensely and at the same time tackled managing 1,000's of students while tracking them through the training tracks for the Navy. I saved the Navy over 4.5 million dollars by ensuring the timely receipt of security clearances and minimal wait times for training. At the same time, I got plenty of practice doing tax returns which was to help the students out. Out of 206 tax returns, I saved the students $27,625 in tax return fees. During my time in Florida, we had many hurricanes hit. I volunteered for each one as a shelter manager. For Hurricane Ivan in 2004, myself and other shelter managers maintained a shelter of 2,500 civilian and military personnel and ensured the preparation and serving of over 40,000 meals. I also enjoyed my time in Hawaii and working with the USO. Meeting so many unique and interesting people was the highlight of that duty. For the last 4 years, I have spent most my time conducting developmental and operational testing of acoustic hardware and software alongside civilian contractors. Being curious in nature, I enjoy this type of work along with analytical and meticulous work. Managing and updating databases have always been part of my job.
