Dr. Stacy Hendricks serves as Associate Dean of the James I. Perkins College of Education’s Office of Student Services and Advising where she is responsible for oversight of Curriculum, Faculty & Staff Development, and Student Affairs.She is a Professor in the Department of Human Services & Educational Leadership where she has taught aspiring administrators in the principal preparation program. She served as Coordinator of the SFA's master’s degree in educational leadership for two years.In 2016, she received the Perkins College of Education Teaching Excellence Award and, in 2015, she was the Phi Delta Kappa Educator of the Year.Dr. Hendricks is past Director of the Consortium for Excellence in Rural Teacher Preparation for English Language Learners Grant and the past Director of the Deep East Texas P-16 Grant.Additionally, she has nearly two decades experience in public education in Texas, Arkansas, and Mississippi where she served as a Curriculum Coordinator, Associate Principal, and middle school teacher.Her research focuses on leadership, effectiveness and evaluation of Principal preparation programs, mentoring, and online learning. She is the co-editor of the book Preparing Educators for Online Learning: A Careful Look at the Components and How to Assess their Value. Dr. Hendricks has published numerous studies in journals such as Research on Women in Education, School Leadership Review, Journal of Interactive Online Learning, Online Journal of Distance Learning Administration, and the Education Leadership Review.She holds a doctorate in educational administration from Texas A&M University-Commerce (2006), a master's degree in school administration from Southeastern Oklahoma State University (2000), and a bachelor's degree in elementary education, with a minor in mathematics education, from Southern Arkansas University (1992).
