• Operate and troubleshoot a pilot system for the Liquid Industrial Waste Systems Group to determine the optimum conditions to treat waste coming out of the factories.• Perform bench scale analysis testing on a chemical treatment process to determine if scale up is realistic.

• Perform analyses using laboratory equipment (e.g. centrifuge, pH meter, autoclave) to develop a method to improve household food waste composting systems.• Apply microbial lab techniques (e.g. inoculation, culture media, and aseptic practices) to prepare media such as LB, SB, and TSA with RIF.• Collect data samples of bacterial growth using auto platers and automated colony counting systems.• Operate and maintain bioreactor containing 16 vessels by checking for leaks, clogs, accurate data collection, and expected levels of inputs.
