• Plan and lead configuration, testing, certification, implementation in the company’s retail transformation project for the company’s host system, back-office and master data management. Also vital to this transition is Computer Assisted Ordering, POS, Sign printing solutions and Scale Software Management. Responsible for supporting the majority of applications used at corporate retail, fuel and pharmacy as well as at independent retail stores.• Configure, regression test and implement updates from third-party vendors.• Work with many teams across multiple areas of the company: Point of Sale, Developers, Networking, Database Admins, Retail System Technicians, Data Engineers, Business Partners, Operations Support, Store Users, Pricing Department, Pricing Analysts, Finance, Merchandisers, PCI compliance team and basically any team that use the applications and hardware.• Configure and replace servers that need updated or require disaster recovery.• Work with physical servers as well as virtual servers.• Work with SQL databases daily. • Supported the systems responsible for selling groceries at retail stores. Hundreds of stores which included corporate owned grocery, fuel and pharmacy as well as independently owned stores that purchase the company’s IT services.• Supported the Toshiba 4690 controllers responsible for the operation of the registers including regular lanes, Service Counter lanes, Fuel, Pharmacy and Self Checkouts. Maintained and configured the Self-Checkout server.• Planned, configured and lead the implementation of the online shopping service called Fast-Lane. • Configure and implement several home-grown applications and support and troubleshoot these applications.• Perform server application upgrades when released from vendors.• Support Back Office reports and balancing. • Assist in transiting a store from keyboard lanes to touch screens which included working with the client on designing the layout of the menus for the Toshiba touch screens. As the Software Applications Specialist I maintained the integrity of all software applications used at store level and at the corporate office. Troubleshoot daily errors and interruption to the applications. Train uses in the use of the applications, such as: store back-office system, scanning, receiving, inventory, shrink maintenance, Ordering, Handhelds including the hardware and configuration of the Hand-Helds. I planned, configured and lead the implementation, and testing of software such as PWM/JDA a scheduling and payroll program. This included configuring and installing time clocks at each store as well as training the store-users how to use the Scheduling software and time clocks. I created the training documentation and conducted store visits to train management on the software as well as supported rollout and live day. Additionally, I worked directly with vendors to configure and support the software and hardware. Answer questions in all IT related areas for all company associates including after hours and weekend on call.
