Chabot College is an urban two-year comprehensive college Hispanic serving institution located on a 94-arce site in the East Bay of the San Fransciso Bay Area. Chabot is one of two colleges in the Chabot-Las Positas Community College District that serves over 13,000 students. It is the first community college to develop Puente and Daraja, successful learning communities that have inspired statewide models for improving academic success of Latino and African American students.Responsibilities•Direct, administer, and supervise the planning, organization, and coordination of instructional programs, library and learning resources that support these programs.•Serve as Accreditation Liaison Officer to lead the college in preparation for the 2015 ACCJC self-evaluation report and site visit.•Provide leadership in the development of curriculum and programs in accordance with college goals and to meet the needs of the diverse student population •Direct the recruitment, selection and assignment, supervision, and evaluation of instructional personnel and classified staff.•Direct the preparation of reports as required by federal, state, and district regulations.•Supervise the development and publication of the college catalog and class schedules•Represent the college and district in the area of instruction to the community, governmental agencies, high schools, and two-year and four-year colleges.

•Supervise, plan, implement and coordinate development of instructional programs for the Humanities and Social Sciences Division, the largest division at the college that includes 18 programs, Library, Learning Resource Center and the Fruitvale Learning Center (satellite program) with 40 full time faculty, 40 adjuncts, and 13 classified staff.•Collaborate with faculty, staff, students and shared governance committees and councils to assure that the instructional goals of the Divisions are meeting student needs.•Develop, supervise and monitor ten divisional budgets including general, grant and contract education funds totaling over 5.6 million dollars.•Collaborate with department chairs to institute effective enrollment management strategies by initiating a schedule of classes and facilities designed to meet the academic goals of students.•Coordinate the hiring, supervision and evaluation of faculty and classified personnel.•Supervise library and learning center operations to include the purchase of books, periodicals and other study materials related to the curricula of the College and that of other administrative units

•Develop curriculum*Monitor and maintain four (4) department budgets.•Represent the department at appropriate college, community and district meetings.•Resolve student inquiries and complaints about department members and services.•Lead student recruitment and community outreach efforts.•Collaborate with community partners to create new programs

*Early childhood and education policy analyst reporting directly to the Supervisor*Monitor planning process for the Proposition 10 commission*Attend Child Care Planning Council meetings*Make recommendations regarding social service policy, specifically CalWORKS
