In this role, I created the store concept of Shester as an online clothing retailer that emphasizes and encourages gender equality and the empowerment of women. My responsibilities included:• Creation and design of Shester's brand identity and logo, including defining brand typography and colors.• Researched online store platform options and chose, what I decided was the best fit, Shopify.• Conducted SEO audit by looking at competitors to determine possible strategic keywords.• Completed several courses covering topics such as SEO Strategies and Content Marketing to assure proper protocols were implemented when creating website, being especially mindful of alt text labeling, page titles and description wording.• Analyzed, compared, and chose apparel vendors. • Designed and created logos for various organizations, events, schools, and businesses. • Hired by Margaret B. Pollard Middle School in an effort to standardize their brand. During the initial meeting, school administrators communicated that there were unhappy because there were too many versions of their logo being used, both internally in the school, and in the community. Officials were also concerned about the lack of consistency of colors used to represent the school. As a result, I designed a new school logo along with a few standardized variations. I also developed a Logo Use and Guideline Manual which also defined the appointed school colors.• Freelanced for Overtime Software (OT) designing parts of visual components of web-based mobile apps and websites for collegiate athletic recruiting programs. Understanding the complex system of the spectrum of mobile screen sizes and visualization was a critical component of these projects. Schools include Louisiana State University (LSU), Texas Christian University (TCU), and Arizona State University (ASU). • Designed marketing materials for OT such as flyers, business cards, and print advertising.• Developed a communications plan for The Hawbridge Schools parent association. • Designed all print advertising for store promotions. This included newspaper/magazine ads and direct mail and in-store marketing materials.• Coordinated the printing of all store marketing flyers, stationery, postcards, and price tags.• Served as a contact for advertising account executives. Responsible for negotiating our ad plan, pricing, and renewal contracts. • Conducted media research and solicited media kits from various publishing outlets• Implemented co-op advertising plans and agreements with vendors. Calculated reimbursement amount by measuring ad space allocated to the vendor and submitted the reimbursement request forms.• Assisted in coordinating all in-store promotional events including determining product pricing.• The marketing department including myself met with the store's ad agency to help brainstorm new promotional ideas and create our annual promotional calendar.• Add the promotional price changes into the store's point-of-sale system. which would generate a series of new price tags.
