I’m a communications professional who builds strategic campaigns, creates engaging content, and connects audiences through shared experiences. I launched my career as a writing coach in Salt Lake City, UT, helping writers express themselves and mentoring other coaches to do the same. Working with writers from different backgrounds – from college students to county inmates, I gained a unique insight into how to craft messaging that resonated with varying audiences. After leaving coaching behind and a brief time as a Yoga Studio Manager, I arrived at Dave’s Health & Nutrition. There I created social media posts, organized events as Communications Specialist, and served as a Team Leader to provide excellent customer service and assist store management in training and mentoring other team members.But I didn’t feel challenged in my career, so I went to grad school, earning a Master of Strategic Communication from Westminster College. During the program, I led and collaborated with other students to develop branding packages and integrated marketing communications plans for actual clients. Shortly after graduation, I landed at the Douglas County School District as Communications Coordinator, receiving a promotion in November 2021. At DCSD, I wrote editorial content, managed special communications projects, oversaw crisis communications, planned events, and headed the district’s digital platforms. Though I’m a writer at my core, I’ve invested five years into designing graphic collateral for small businesses as a freelancer. My side freelancing gig became my main gig in June 2022. Most of my time has been with WholeSun Wellness Marketing Manager. I’ve built websites, produced collateral, and designed product labels that helped salespeople open over 200 accounts in six months.I love working with my collaborative team at Denver Public Schools which works with communications like an artist works with clay. By combining our passions for connecting people, we are discovering new ways to inform, engage, and educate our audiences.
