About Stacy Deuser

Check out my Resume + Portfolio @ stacydeuser.orgI have a passion for designing, building, and exploring structures. In addition to working with some skilled and inspired mentors, I am fortunate to have had a range of invaluable academic, professional, and personal opportunities spanning the fields of architecture, structural engineering, project management, and numerous labor trades. These experiences have provided a comprehensive understanding of the construction industry and expanded my skillset, allowing me to make informed and effective contributions to any project.Being a natural problem solver, I have a long reputation as the go-to person. Repeatedly I hear, “that can’t be done”, but with commitment and a can do attitude, a logical, quality solution is always possible. My unique background and knack for recognizing possible project pitfalls and potential, allow me to make holistic decisions from structural, aesthetic, functional, and practical perspectives.I was born with an inherent interest in all things related to designing and building. As a child, I begged to help build our deck, replace the roof, and use power tools, long before I was of age. With time I became more conscious of my surroundings, and began to appreciate the effects they had on my life. I realized that the spaces I use every day, along with those I would visit just once, each help to develop my self-identity, and have the ability to shape my perceptions, alter my outlook, invoke thought, and inspire.I am motivated by the fact that as designers and creators, we give people the context in which their lives take place – an important privilege and responsibility that should be considered throughout a project’s entirety from the quality of a design to the level of workmanship used to complete its final details. Professionally, I seek to combine this mindfulness and my extensive skillset with the lessons of my diverse experience to make lasting contributions to our built environment.

Listed skills include Autocad, Revit, Architectural Design, Renovation, and 19 others.

Historic Rehabber: Career Development

Check out this project @ http://stacydeuser.org/portfolio/professional/-I have been strategically and tangibly investing in my career by rehabbing a dilapidated, 1700 square foot historic house, which has provided me with a practical understanding of the construction industry. The project has included restoring historic features, modernizing the kitchen and bathrooms, updating the electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems for code compliancy, and reprogramming spaces to fulfill the needs and wants of the owners, while efficiently utilizing the available square footage. -Broadened my skill set and gained a strong working knowledge of all aspects of residential construction and renovating methods, tools, materials, and processes as I fulfilled four prominent roles: project manager, architect, engineer, and construction laborer. **Earned a reputation amongst subcontractors as a skillful carpenter, diligent worker, and creative designer and engineer with an eye for detail and a clear understanding of construction methods.

St. Louis, Mo, Us

While exercising drafting, design, teamwork, and organizational skills, I gained a working knowledge of interdisciplinary relationships, project development, and construction document production.-Engaged in small and medium sized, new construction, commercial and military projects including a credit union, MetroBus station, office building, car wash, and community recreational center. Produced and reviewed architectural plans, elevations, sections, renderings, schedules, details, and specifications for projects of varying degrees of completion from the development of concept sketches, preliminary design drawings, and presentation boards to construction and record drawings. Throughout these phases, I collaborated with architecture, estimating, engineering, and construction teams, evaluated project submissions for consistency and compliance with company standards, responded to RFIs and change orders, and revised drawings and specifications. -Transformed an ineffective product and code library by updating and reorganizing its contents. This effort was facilitated first by my attendance of weekly lectures regarding new building products and construction technologies and second by contacting and meeting with vendors to obtain knowledge and literature on new products.
