🌟 Passionate Nonprofit Leader 🌟After 31 incredible years serving the Austin community, I am excited to announce my new role as Executive Director of Paws and Stripes in Albuquerque, New Mexico. For nearly three decades, I've dedicated myself to championing the rights and well-being of children and families within the child welfare system and those with special needs. From direct service delivery to administrative and executive leadership roles, I've consistently strived to make a positive impact.My commitment to creating a brighter future for those in need is evident in every role I've undertaken. As a leader in child welfare, behavioral health, juvenile justice communities, and children with special needs, my passion for the betterment of society resonates loudly. Throughout my career, whether as an intern, Case Manager, Divisional Operations Director, Vice President of Operations, or Executive Director, I've brought unwavering commitment, leadership, expertise, and direction to nonprofit agencies in Texas and nationally.I hold a Master’s of Science in Social Work from the University of Texas at Austin and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Child Development, also from the University of Texas at Austin. In addition to my professional achievements, I have demonstrated a deep commitment to the Austin community. Volunteering with organizations such as Special Olympics, Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Foundation, Austin Fit, Austin Flyers, Hospice Austin, and Communities in Schools has been a fulfilling part of my journey.Rooted in the heart of Austin for 31 years, I am an alumna of Leadership Austin (2011) and received the honor of being inducted into the Greater Austin Sports Hall of Honor in 2022. My unwavering mission is to champion a brighter, more compassionate future for children and families not only within our community but also beyond its borders.As I embark on this new journey with Paws and Stripes, I am excited to learn more about the profound impact of service animals and animal-assisted therapies. I am committed to honoring the legacy of Paws and Stripes while promoting growth and innovation within the organization.
