As a Special Educator, I plan and provide learning experiences for students with disabilities, including cognitive, emotional, or physical disabilities. I create a flexible program and learning environment that provides specialized instruction that draw from students' strengths to facilitate growth in their weaknesses. My teaching philosophy draws from holistic approaches and is student centered with hands on engagement at its core. I find ways to implement kinesthetics with academics so that learning is doing, seeing, and hearing. I believe if you keep the body engaged then you keep the mind engaged. I believe in celebrating the 'little successes' of progress so that students are motivated to keep growing! I am an accessibility coach, ensuring that general education coursework is available to all students despite any learning difference.
