Originally hired as a consultant to refactor, troubleshoot and ultimately port a set of Linux kernel modules/drivers from Linux to Solaris.Implemented buffer/memory management modules to allocate and manage kernel DMA buffers mapped to multiple user space processes allowing fora zero copy data path.Designed and implemented a multi-node grid computing environment using Oracle Coherence.Refactor Linux driver and kernel modules to eliminate redundant and overly complex code and move modules to user space that were improperly constructed as kernel code.Technical lead for a team of 5-15 software engineers. The technical lead role includes defining designs,assisting upper management with hiring, scheduling and task allocation for all software tasks as well as monitoring and mentoring individual engineers.Responsibilities also include individual design and development contributions.Portions of the system were ported from Linux kernel driver modules to Linux user space applications and ultimately to Solaris.Several components are also being designed from the ground up.These include a fiber channel device driver and modules that perform command/data routing, DMA buffer allocation and management, tape drive emulation,and backend storage.Member of the department's cross functional architecture team tasked with complete system design and initial conception of future products.
