As the director of industry relations I focused on three areas: leading the grower services team, coordinating strategic market development initiatives and connecting with industry partners and purchasers of corn.With the grower services team, we created and execute engagement programming. This includes in-person and online learning and small group development. The focus was on building a community and an association that members are proud to be a member. Additionally, increasing membership as a staff and empowering members to recruit is a major area of focus.Market development activities include leading the initiative focused on driving consumer awareness and purchase of higher ethanol blended fuels. Additionally, we worked with our international development partners to host trade teams of buyers for corn in all forms. With these teams we demonstrate the key messages of growing a sustainable crop, innovativeness at the farm and throughout the industry and connecting them with the farmers who are growing the crop they are buying. We helped put a face to the product.
