Stacy helped to found this 501(c)(3) non profit organization, dedicated to serving as a neutral and credible resource of information to citizens about the interdependence and interconnectedness of a community. Through Stacy's leadership and consensus building skills, she successfully brought together diverse - and often divisive - community stakeholders to create a common vision for creating a more sustainable Martin County using a "four systems" framework. To be healthy and sustainable community - the natural enviroment, the man-made environment, the economy and the social fabric - must be thriving.

Keep Martin Beautiful (KMB) is a non profit community organization - and Keep America affiliate - dedicated to litter preventation and education, promoting recycling, community beautification and revitalization and environmental stewardship. At the time of her initial hiring, Stacy served as the organization's first Executive Director and coordinated KMB's major community cleanup events including the Great American Cleanup, the International Coastal Cleanup as well as the Adopt-A-Road program and launched an Environmental Stewardship Awards recognition program. She served a diverse, 36-member Board of Directors while successfully organizing and mobilizing thousands of volunteers to make a tangible, measurable difference in the community. After a three-year hiatus, her relationship with KMB continues to this day through her public relations firm - The Firefly Group. The Firefly Group provides comprehensive administrative, programmatic, community outreach, public relations, marketing, fund development and board development services to the organization.

Stacy's long and successful relationship with Martin County began when she served as the Solid Waste & Utility Division's Recycling & Household Hazardous Waste Coordinator. Stacy's proudest accomplishment during her time in this position was helping the county to launch their mobile household hazardous waste collection vehicle, known as the HazMobile. Her most memorable experience in this position, however, was spending Friday's at the Palm City landfill collecting household hazardous waste out of the trunks of resident's vehicles. Yes, really!

As Communications Manager for MetLife Foundation and MetLife's Corporate Contributions and Social Responsibility division, was responsible for internal communications with employes across the country to inform them of the company's philanthropic activities in the areas of health, education, arts, community improvement and employee volunteer activities. After relocating to Florida, Stacy continued to do consulting work for the company.

Through pragmatic leadership, financial and technical assistance, advocacy, and public education, the Conservancy ensures that New York’s historically and culturally significant buildings, streetscapes, and neighborhoods continue to contribute to New York’s economy, tourism, and quality of life. While I loved the organization's mission, going to a cubicle every day to research and write grants was just not my cup of tea. Thus, my short tenure at this non-profit.

Was proud to have participated in the capital campaign to relocate the headquarters from 57th Street to their new "green building" in the Village - decades before "green building" became so ubiquitous.
