My time at Kings Island provided me with two important tools for success in the retail industry. First, I discovered my passion for this work while at the amusement park. My love for all things retail played a large part in my ability to work 65 hours a week without complaint. This leads to the second tool given to me at KI--a working knowledge of the "basics" of the industry. I have experience with both people (meaning interactions with customers, employees, job applicants, vendors, etc) and product (meaning the design of visually appealing merchandise displays). Due to my time at KI, I became accustomed to the ways of the retail world and business-oriented thinking. Xavier, then, built upon these foundations. My thinking was expanded to see the big picture of business. My courses have enhanced my management skills and made me a more well-rounded businesswoman. Currently, I am seeking employment in the New York City/New Jersey area. I wold love to work for a larger retail company, particularly one that specializes in entertainment (i.e. books, movies, music). However, I do have experience dealing with other types of products, and would be equally satisfied in a job within other areas of retail, such as clothing.
