 Oversaw and took a direct hand, as necessary, in all laboratory functions and responses, including QI; QA; QC; Policy and Procedure writing, review, and implementation; training of new and existing staff; and new instrument purchases and implementation. Managed the Radiology Department for about 8 months while the hospital was locating a replacement. I was asked to take the position permanently. Succeeded in starting up, staffing, and maintaining a satellite lab at Granger Medical Clinic. Increased volume of testing by 53%. Hired and trained a full staff of Medical Technologists, phlebotomists, couriers, and other support staff. Successfully passed state and CAP accreditation inspections. Participated as a CAP inspector to other laboratories. Was an active member of the hospital’s Policy and Procedure Committee, Safety Committee, Quality Improvement Committee, JCAHO Task Force, Target Track Committee, and Clinical Council.
