Technical Manager – Lng Wheatstone Tanks ProjectThiess 2012 - Oct 2014Brisbane, Qld, Au• First Australian resource to join Paris team on $600M Entrepose Vinci Thiess JV LNG project; stayed on in Entrepose office for 18mth as project team grew and transitioned to Perth/site offices.• Coordinated design management; acted as liaison for design and major procurement stages of two 150,000 m3 cryogenic LNG storage tanks and two 120,000 m3 condensate tanks.• Facilitated customisation of the design to Australian standard requirements; incorporated design aspects in sync with Australian industry environment.• Introduced Thiess management system to both Australian and French teams; monitored and resolved design and constructability issues.• Supervised fabrication and logistics; travelled to workshops in Thailand frequently and overcame significant issues with shipping of major fabricated LNG tank steelwork.• Led pre-qualification visits to shortlisted fabrication shops; compiled audit reports and drafted recommendations; attended pre-award meeting in Paris. -
Area Project Manager – Structural, Mechanical And Piping (Pre-Treatment)Thiess 2009 - 2012Brisbane, Qld, Au• Worked on one of Australia’s largest infrastructure projects, the $3.5B 150GL/Y Victoria Desalination Project for the Thiess Degremont JV. Led engineering and construction teams across design, procurement, and project planning, immediately prior to, and following, contract award.• Managed SMP work in fabrication, installation and pre-commissioning of the Pre-treatment area of the main plant site with team of up to 35 office-based staff and a field crew which peaked at close to 400. Provided on-the-job training and mentoring to Pre-treatment team.• Introduced CCPM for management of SMP work in the Pre-treatment area, which produced successful results over nearly 12 months in the latter part of the project. Re-introduced during the completion of construction/ramping up of site-wide commissioning where achieved exceptional schedule improvement as well as productivity gains of up to 50%.• Introduced and championed 4D modelling for a number of site areas. This led to creation of a Building Information Modelling (BIM) group in the Thiess head office. Utilised expertise in 4D modelling and CCPM to reduce timelines on a number of areas across Pre-treatment; reduced timeframes for the Sea Water Lift Pump Station from two months to closer to two weeks. -

Oversaw team of 20–25 engineers and supervisors, and another 125–150 workers.• Achieved water quality and throughput milestones in world-record time.• Delivered exceptional safety results, completing 1.5 million man hours without a single LTI.SMP Area Manager – Anglo Coal Dawson Project • Construction/area management roles on $450M plant upgrade project, from initial scoping phase to design, estimating, and head contract negotiations. Led crew of up to 75.• Spent 2mths in Indonesia to oversee fabrication of 2,500T of structural steel across number of workshops in Jakarta. Suggested, and followed through with, major modification of fabrication schedule to allow a complete re-arrangement of the construction sequence; mitigated delays of up to 12 months, but still produced coal effectively on time.• Provided guidance on using Critical Chain thinking to improve productivity and schedule performance. -
