Stan Vrebos, architect by training, is a designer that has a focus on temporary architecture. During the work done at Horst Arts & Music and Stelplaats, he got in contact with temporary, socio-cultural interventions hosting multiple programs. His practice specializes in temporary architecture, with a strong interest in modular construction technologies traditionally used to support permanent structures. He explores how these systems can contribute to a sustainable design approach and focuses on embracing impermanence. By hacking and kitbashing these components as a versatile kit-of-parts, Stan creates captivating temporary interventions such as festivals, clubs, fashion shows and more. Stan is the lead architect at Temporary Pleasure, an architecture collective with a focus on nightlife. Besides being a design studio, Temporary Pleasure designs and builds ephemeral clubspaces with community building and the support of local scenes at the core of the process. The collective has hosted workshops in Dublin, Prague and Barcelona. He recently joined as a teacher at the KUL, teaching at the architecture faculty in Brussels and Ghent.
