Supply Chain Specialist
Responsible for all Supply Chain functions in a $30 million / year metal fabrication plant to include Procurement, Supply Chain and Logistics.Key Responsibilities:Strategic Planning: Develop and implement supply chain strategies that align with overall business goals. Collaborate with senior management to identify opportunities for improving efficiency and reducing costs.Supplier Management: Manage relationships with suppliers, negotiate contracts, and ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of goods and services. Implement supplier performance metrics and continuous improvement initiatives.Demand Forecasting: Utilize forecasting tools and techniques to predict customer demand and optimize inventory levels. Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to align supply with demand fluctuations.Inventory Management: Implement inventory control policies to minimize excess stock while ensuring product availability. Monitor inventory levels, conduct regular audits, and optimize reorder points.Logistics and Distribution: Coordinate transportation, distribution, and logistics activities to ensure timely and efficient delivery of products. Evaluate and optimize transportation routes and carriers to reduce costs and improve delivery times.Process Optimization: Streamline supply chain processes, identify bottlenecks, and implement improvements. Utilize lean principles and continuous improvement methodologies to enhance operational efficiency.Risk Management: Proactively identify potential risks in the supply chain, such as disruptions, and develop mitigation strategies. Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.Data Analysis: Analyze supply chain data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and cost-saving opportunities.
