Internship at Dubrek Studios gives me a chance to learn different roles and approaches that are important for up and coming Sound Engineer. I believe that to become a successful professional in the music industry one has to be able to contextualize a number of skills possessed in various audio-related environments.What I do at Dubrek: • Building a Recording Studio/Rehearsal Rooms.- Acoustic Treatments of the facilities (efficient, pre-planned use of acoustic materials, relevant techniques)- Control Room Execution (measurements, building, co-design)Theoretical knowledge combined with empirical execution undoubtedly provides a universal set of skills. Being familiar with electric routing, building materials we used, dimensions, angles etc. allows me to provide accurate and quicker troubleshooting and makes it easier for potential future modernisation of the studio itself.• Assistant Engineer Intern- Microphone Setup- Pro Tools consultancy- Focused approach to broaden my engineering knowledgeWorking with artists representing various genres I am constantly introduced to new techniques and setups. One week I have assisted in recording of an EP for a punk band called The Atoms which was a pretty straight-forward task.
