In 1999 when Tandy all of their retail stores and Standing Bear's Trading Post was opened,I moved my custom leather shop in and helped run the store.A few years after opening the shop, the original manager of Standing Bear's Trading Post left and I became the full-time manager as well as running my custom leather business, Leather by WC.In June 2006, when the owner William “Standing Bear” Kimmey passed away, the family transferred ownership of the store to me where I continue to sell leathercraft supplies and teach people how to do leatherwork and also provide custom leather as I have for over 30 years.

Most of the things I make have a western flair but I've made many items for bikers and rock musicians. All my work is hand carved, hand tooled leather. All of my custom carved and tooled leather items are hand sewn using waxed thread so it will last much longer than machine sewn leather goods.I have a Motto I do business by: "You only have two things,Your ability & your integrity. If you compromise either one,you've lost the other". When I give a finish date, the job will be done on time. I will not put a new order in front of one that is already on the books. I've done a lot of work for TV and Motion Pictures. Shows like:"Guns of Paradise", "Quantum Leap", "Martian Law" (a pilot for a new show that never aired), "Diagnosis Murder", "Jello Shot" & "Sliders" Movies:"Heat", "Indian in the Cupboard", "Streets of Larado", "Just Friends" and "Lightning Jack". Commercials: "Clarion Hotels" (Maverick Movie Contest).
