Titan Physiotherapy and Fitness Centre is a private health care physiotherapy clinic that provides a wonderful environment for a multidisciplinary team approach to care, with the goal and vision of enhancing the functional recovery of all service users. The physiotherapy department is divided into various specialities, which include musculoskeletal, trauma/orthopaedic, stroke/neurology, aged care/geriatrics, and community-based rehabilitation.My duties include:1. Conduct comprehensive physiotherapy assessments, develop evidence-based treatment plans, and manage patient care in the MSK outpatient, aged care and community/residential home settings effectively. 2. Provide clinical education and instruction to physiotherapy assistants and students, overseeing their schedules and fostering their professional development. 3. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including allied health professionals, general practitioners, surgeons, sports physicians, occupational therapist and other healthcare providers to deliver holistic patient care. 4. Prepare detailed reports including initial assessments, progress updates, and final treatment management plans to keep referrers informed and ensure continuity of care.

The University of Benin Teaching Hospital is a tertiary health care facility that provides a wonderful environment for a multidisciplinary team approach to care, which is also stated in the mission statement: "Working as a team to improve our clients’ health by integrating consistent quality care, education, and research in a compassionate environment". The physiotherapy department is a very important part of this tertiary institution as it renders services on both an inpatient and outpatient basis. The physiotherapy department is divided into various units, which include musculoskeletal, trauma/orthopaedic, cardiothoracic, and respiratory care/ITU, stroke/neurology, geriatrics, paediatrics, and community-based rehabilitation.my duties included;1. To complete a rotation in all the physiotherapy specialties2. To independently assess patients, plan treatment regimens for patients , review referrals and medical records, and provide physiotherapy services to patients using the appropriate subjective and objective assessment tools.3. Educate patients on injury prevention strategies, promoting long-term health and wellbeing. 4. Engaged in documentation and reporting of patients' status and progress following departmental policy. 5. Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members, including physicians, surgeons, occupational therapist and nurses.

Adhered to COVID- 19 health and safety guidelines provided by the hospital, maintaining a high standard of personal and professional conduct. Working at Titan as a volunteer physiotherapist gave me a soft landing in the profession and enabled me to develop my clinical skills, especially in the areas of treatment planning, exercise therapy, and multidisciplinary collaboration. The private clinic setting provided a different perspective on patient care, focusing on efficiency and personalised attention. The exposure to diverse cases and the opportunity to work closely with experienced physiotherapists significantly contributed to my professional growth and built my confidence to practice independently.
