I know a boy who loves to sing, write, and dream about the future. Friends and family fed his passion for performing arts, but he decided early that music would not be his vocation. After attending the University of Missouri's School of Journalism, he became a sports writer -- covering major events such as the Super Bowl, World Series and World Cup qualifying. That led to stints as sports editor of The Sacramento Bee and St. Louis Sun among others.However, this boy still envisioned a world with flying cars, so he left the newspaper industry for Information Technology. To get there, he became an expert in grown-up topics such as digital content, platforms and processes. Along the way he also gained a deep understanding of what organizations face in today's digital transformation. He used those skills to help Hewlett-Packard, NetApp, McClatchy and other companies grow business in substantive ways. Most of all, he loves to communicate through stories --- including his 2021 novel, "A Tower to Heaven." I doubt this dreamer will ever outgrow his love for competitive challenges, robust discussions and tight harmonies. Let me know when you would like to meet him.
