I was responsible for marketing to advance the community’s economic growth, with an emphasis on tourism. I handled promotional materials, electronic communications, advertising, and public and media relations. I was responsible for the publicity of numerous successful events, including the Lewis and Clark Bicentennial, the annual Amelia Earhart Festival and the popular “Haunted Atchison” trolley tours. My efforts helped Atchison consistently receive media coverage across the region and throughout the country, including features in The New York Times, National Geographic Traveler, and Midwest Living magazine.

I was responsible for product development, promotions, and services to tour groups and individual travelers. I coordinated media relations, advertising, and promotional materials. I directed operations of a trolley and the community visitor center.

I honed computer graphic skills while working for this agency that specialized in package design services for clients that included Walmart. My responsibilities included creating electronic files for film output plus scanning, color correcting and retouching images for printing purposes.
