* I was the first QA Analyst in the industry to use Qualitative and Quantitative Behavioral Analysis to test hardware and software for a US company. * I was involved in testing of all hardware and software going into the stores, and with training the field coordinators on how to do the store training and roll-out, and the documentation of the systems. * I was involved with testing and implementation of many host systems, including those in merchandising, advertising, and accounting.* I designed the on-hand inventory system used to maintain the item quantities accurately in the stores, and worked with the design and worked on the predictive calculations used for suggesting order quantities. * I worked with the register systems, the daily sku/price uploads and sales downloads. * I was instrumental in helping convert the advertising department from a manual cut and paste system for the catalogs and ads, to a WYSIWYG desktop network for the artists and ad staff with in-house, computerized photographic layouts for delivery to the printers. * I worked with the specs for the conversion of the Canada stores (Aikenhead) to the American software platform. This involved going through all programs and identifying what measurement fields needed to be converted to metric, the cash conversion issues, the subtle issues involving items such as Canadas alpha numeric zip codes, where all of the U.S. standards held this as a numeric field, etc. Also there was the issue of the U.S. stores processing sales data instore and sending results to the host systems, while the Canada stores sent sales directly to the host system for processing, with no real in-store systems available for sales processing, ad management, RTV processing, labor management, etc. Even the language issues and tax issues had to be addressed for the systems used in the U.S. to be used in Canada. * I worked closely with the Help Desk to develop manuals for problem resolution in the field of all systems.
