I worked hard and learned to ride, so that others can have adventures. For a long time, I had the dream of learning to ride a motorcycle and eventually owning one. I had to overcome several challenges and as a personal reward, I convinced a friend to teach me to ride a motorcycle, in Virginia, in December, and during a snow flurry! Now that I know how to ride my greatest joy is being able to take others on journeys and watch as they achieve their goals. This is a great analogy for my life. While I was on active duty with the U.S. Navy, I worked hard to achieve my bachelor’s and master’s degrees. Much like learning and honing my motorcycle skills, I regard education as an ongoing activity. I enjoy learning about the past from experts, and I know that what lies on the road behind you often foreshadows the road ahead. When I lead a group ride or teach someone to ride a motorcycle for the first time, I know that I don’t need to be arrogant to take the lead. I am often able to determine with a fair degree of accuracy what makes an individual unique, distinct, and special. The best ideas seem to come to me while cruising my motorcycle on a back highway! I’m a veteran, transitioning to the private sector in Summer of 2023. I’m currently looking for opportunities in New Orleans and Northshore areas. I am interested in working in accounting, operations, cost management, or personal finance.
