Castello Pizza & Market is a family-owned brick oven pizzeria and restaurant. We are successfully operating in the Niantic Bay Area. We began operating in Niantic, CT with having the customer in mind. We offer dining room seating, a wide variety of Italian menu items, a summer outdoor patio, and an arrangement of beer and wine and liquor. Making sure the customers are happy is our goal. I like to think that a restaurant is not a thing. It is not a structure. It is not a group of people. It is not a recipe, concept, or brand. It is a process that brings products and people together to create a pleasant experience for your guests.

Our team plans audits by understanding agency objectives, structure, policies, processes, and internal controls; establishing audit schedules. We assess compliance by examining, analyzing, and verifying financial accounts, fixed assets and inventories, payrolls or cash accounts, etc. to verify information by comparing and analyzing items to documentation. Completing audit work papers by documenting audit tests and findings in a timely manner and maintaining constant communication with superiors and clients noting any discrepancies found. Ultimately, our job is to contribute excellent client service as well as working effectively and efficiently with a team by helping others accomplish related job results as and where needed.

We are Kricket. Kricket is an anonymous way to tell your neighbors to please quiet down. Kricket was born out of another venture, called Rate and Rent. Originally we were solving the problem of the college renting experience. We found it difficult to co-ordinate lease signing, mailing and cashing checks, and finding great landlords. A few weeks went by and we realized that the idea of Rate And Rent was bloated; it could no longer fit in one sentence. We needed to streamline and fast. This lead us to pivot our pain point, and go from students and landlords to students and neighbors. This is when Kricket was born. Kricket allows users to anonymously send a text message that says “please quiet down” directly to all members of the neighboring house who sign up for the service. It is a strong alternative for a neighbor instead of calling the police or doing nothing. Like any town, Hamden has limited funding through taxes. Many permanent Hamden residences are aggravated that their tax dollars are being spent on police to address student houses that are loud. Kricket accomplishes the end goal, without wasting the time of the police, the tax dollars of the neighbor, and gives the loud neighbor a chance to quiet down before the police are even notified. Kricket has been functioning for about a month now and has registered over 200 addresses in the town of Hamden, we have been on the cover of the New Haven Register, been interviewed by Channel 8 and 3 news, and have major plans for expansion. In the next few weeks, we will be launching Campus Kricket, where students in residence halls can send a Kricket to other students in their building. We have spoke with several administrators at Quinnipiac about implementing this product and the results have been unanimous. Everyone from the Director of Residential Life, to the President of the university has personally backed Kricket as an effective solution to the university’s main on campus issue, noise.

CheckMate Creations is an LLC whose sole purpose is miscellaneous side projects and interesting ideas. There is a development team hired on a contract basis to help first time entrepreneurs get their first idea to market. It is designed to help aspiring entrepreneurs understand the process, learn some technical skills, and build their network to be able to launch ideas on their own. Checkmate Creations is a launching pad.
