About Stanley Root

Since retiring from PwC Russia I have continued to avoid any achievements whatsoever other than enjoying a wonderful seven years with my wife at our home in France, and frequent vacation visits by our three daughters. Living by the most beautiful urban lake in Europe deepened my understanding and appreciation of the natural world and led to my first website www.lakeannecystory.com. On returning to live in Oxford I got interested in the development of renewable energy and how financial misinformation has hobbled its progress, which led to my second website www.Rosediagram.com. Beyond that I am interested in the financial transparency and accountability of government, which has led to my current website www.hmgplc.co.uk. I continue happily to invest my time in these works despite all three having fallen dead-born from the Wordpress, without reaching such distinction, as even to excite a murmur among the zealots.

After 7 years teaching in the East End of London and 29 years with PwC in Manchester and Russia, I had the good fortune to be able to retire with my wife Vera, to a beautiful house by Lake Annecy. We ran a small B&B business, explored Europe and enjoyed many holidays with our three grown up daughters. Our home was a peaceful retreat for families and friends to enjoy the spectacular beauty of the lake and mountains and engage in a wide range of outdoor activities. We recently moved back to our home in Oxford to embark on the next chapter in our lives.
