After spending many years working construction jobs including hard and soft landscaping, general building, window fitting and painting/decorating, followed by a stint in window fabrication, I made the decision to pursue a degree in Architecture at the University of the West of England. After graduating in the summer of 2023, I shortly after became aware of Building Energy Experts, a leading company in the retrofit, decarbonization and air tightness testing sector. Entering in to the company as a Trainee Building Sustainability Surveyor I spent a number of months getting to grips with the role before becoming a fully qualified DEA and Retrofit Assessor. Now with much experience in this sector and my promotion to Lead Retrofit Assessor, helping train any new assessors and ensure the smooth delivery of reports and projects, I look forward to finding new ways to champion sustainability in the built environment
