About Stanley Bao

I am a current provisional psychologist studying the Master of Professional Psychology at Macquarie University and doing my placement at Workplace Options.My previous work experience was in practising behavioural therapy at the Lizard Centre. As my clientele were children with developmental disorders, I focused on providing behaviour management and developing communication and other essential life skills. I have recent volunteer experience at Lifeline Australia where I provided crisis counseling to people from a variety of backgrounds. I empowered callers by connecting with and exploring their reasons for calling, and by affirming their internal and external strengths.I also spent multiple years in the not-for-profit field where I sent student volunteers overseas on projects aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals and learned many valuable skills in the process including leadership, strategic planning, training, and team management. In my own volunteer project in South Korea, I collaborated with school principals, teachers, and local volunteers to design games and learning activities for multicultural and orphaned children.
