At Air Squared, I was responsible for the design and analysis of scroll compression and electronic systems for several parallel consumer projects. This design work included creating CAD parts, assemblies, drawings, and bills of material as well as coordinating with vendors and machinists. In addition, I designed and fabricated test stands on which I performed, troubleshot, and instructed others in data acquisition. The results gained from my test stands were used to inform crucial project design decisions that my group made.

I worked with Professor Doug Matson's ELFSTONE research group. My research involved preparing samples, documenting procedures, and running and analyzing tests at the NASA Electrostatic Levitation facility in Huntsville, AL. I calculated densities and viscosities of several newly-developed superalloys. I completed a senior thesis which involved the calculation of solidification velocity of silicon-cobalt alloys in preparation for future space-flight experiments. In October 2016, I won the CASIS Student Investigator Space Flight Award for "Best Poster" at the annual ASGSR meeting. The winning poster is attached.

The NASA Student Airborne Research Program is an 8-week program designed to give rising college seniors research experience in the field of earth science. During the program, I used vertical profiles of various atmospheric chemicals in order to calculate ozone production in the LA Basin. At the end of the program, I presented my findings to a group of peers, scientists, and researchers.
