As the Director, Quality Services and Risk Management, I direct and manage the activities for the 9th Medical Group in Quality Management/Performance Improvement, Risk Management, and the Patient Experience.I am responsible for the design, coordination, implementation and management of the organizations Quality Improvement Program. This position provides leadership in defining, implementing and integrating quality, safety, service and efficiency strategies into the plans, policies, and organizational processes that affect the organizations operations and strategic direction, in collaboration with 9th Medical Groups executive staff, administration, professional and other staff, internal and external and in alignment with Air Force Medical Services strategic initiatives. Additionally, I am responsible for the planning and coordination of the risk management and support patient safety activities and initiatives for the 9th Medical Group. This includes coordinating and reporting claims against the facility; interfacing with legal counsel; implementing the risk management plan and administering the risk management program; collecting and analyzing risk management/patient safety data; conducting risk management/patient safety education programs; and complying with accreditation and licensing requirements; with the objective of improving patient outcomes and provide quality patient-centered healthcare.
