About Stanley J. Cantrell

I am currently a Ph.D. candidate in the Human-Centered Computing program at the Georgia Institute of Technology. My research interests are in the areas of Human-Computer Interaction, Computer-Mediated Communication, Social Computing, and Accessibility. I am particularly interested in understanding how technology users communicate paralanguage and other nonverbal cues across different electronic communication platforms, and the design of universally accessible platforms that facilitate such communication. As a Mixed Methods researcher, I actively utilize creative research methodologies to collect meaningful qualitative and quantitative data about users, technology, and their environments. I conduct both generative and evaluative research using the following methods: surveys, interviews and focus groups, ethnographic methods, card sorting tasks, lab-based usability investigations, unmoderated usability investigations, A/B tests, and participatory design. Please feel free to visit my webpage, www.stanleyjcantrell.com, contact me at stanleyjcantrell@gmail.com, or message me directly through LinkedIn.
