Since 1994, I have been a trial attorney in the Commonwealth of Virginia, specializing in traffic, criminal defense, civil and business litigation, personal injury, appellate advocacy and real estate litigation.In 1994, I was one of the attorneys who represented Paula Jones in the matter of Paula Jones v. William Jefferson Clinton, and was part of the appellate team the won a 9-0 unanimous U.S. Supreme Court victory over a sitting President of the United States, with the case standing for the proposition that the President is not above the law nor immune from civil prosecution for his private acts.As a criminal defense lawyer, I have successfully represented those wrongly accused of crimes at all levels, including a successful capital murder defense verdict.I am extensively experienced in matters of defending persons who have been charged with driving under the influence.As a personal injury lawyer, I have obtained millions of dollars for my clients through settlements and trials against those who have wrongly caused their injuries.As a civil litigator, I have represented both individuals, small businesses and large corporations in disputes ranging from torts to breach of contract actions. In the Supreme Court of Virginia, I have been successful in matters of the common law property doctrine of Adverse Possession, and in two cases in particular, Hollander v. World Mission Church and Kim v. Douval Corp., I was able to refine the doctrine of Adverse Possession in the modern practice of property law.Specialties: I am an experienced trial attorney at every level of the Virginia court system, and have been successful in many jury trials in both civil and criminal matters.In 2011, I was elected in a special election to replace Congressman Robert Hurt in the Virginia State Senate for the 19th District.
