The project involved the excavation of research waste debris consisting mostly of liquid scintillation solution wastes and Ra-226 sources from 50 pits followed by packaging and disposition of almost 23,000 cubic yards of contaminated soil. Responsibilities included management of the project bioassay program, supervision of four Radiological Control Technicians, and one Laboratory Technician. Supported Waste Management by analyzing soil samples and excavated sources by gamma-ray spectroscopy.
