Enforce the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSR), Hawaii Revised Statutes (HRS) & PHMSA Hazardous Materials Regulations (HMR) on motor carrier companies, CMV's and drivers. Enforce weight regulations on motor carrier companies, CMV's and drivers. Perform inspections on large vehicles over 10,001 lbs and vehicles requiring Commercial Driver's License (CDL) (vehicles over 26,001 lbs), including truck tractor/trailer combinations, large straight trucks, motor coaches, buses, passenger vans, limousines and hazardous materials vehicles (cargo tanks, cylinder vehicles, radioactive carrying, etc).Certified in performing Compliance Investigations and State Safety Management Audits on motor carriers and drivers.Train and certify new officers on the rules and regulations of the FMCSR, HRS and HMR, to ensure that they understand when they apply them to the motor carriers, CMV's & drivers.Proficient in Aspen, Capri, UFA, Caserite, Sentri, FMCSA Portal (MCMIS, Query Central, Safer, L&I, SMS & CDLIS).Previously, joined the State of Hawaii DOT MVSO in 2006, left the State in 2010 to work for the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration Hawaii field office as a Safety Investigator in 2010. Left the FMCSA in 2012 to my current position in 2012 as a temporary hire until April of 2013, when I got my permanent position.
