As program lead for electric vehicle (EV) initiatives at TDEC, I focus on ways to increase EVs in Tennessee. This includes two primary efforts:1) EV Infrastructure: Responsibility for the Zero Emissions Vehicle Supply Equipment category of Tennessee's share of the VW Environmental Mitigation Trust (VW settlement). Additionally, in partnership with TVA, I'm a key member of a working group to establish a statewide EV infrastructure plan.2) Drive Electric TN: I serve as a key member of the state's electric vehicle consortium, Drive Electric TN. In January 2019, the consortium published the "Tennessee Electric Vehicle Roadmap" as a guide to grow the state's EVs to 200,000 by 2028 (from 5,000 in 2018). The roadmap identified 4 key pillars to enable this goal, including infrastructure, awareness, policy, and inventory.Emerging Energy Technology: I also serve as a domain expert for other emerging energy technologies including solar, microgrids, battery storage, combined heat and power, and other distributed energy resources.Energy & Utility Efficiency: I served on the State Facility Utility Management (SFUM) team to help measure and reduce the energy and water use and state owned and managed facilities.

I led sales, marketing, and operations for Spotwise to an exit in 2019. Along with two phenomenal co-founders, I helped grow the company from zero to launching and selling the industry's first and smartest parking enforcement software for surface and un-gated parking facilities: Spotwise Directed Enforcement. The software allows parking enforcement officials to make smarter decisions and increase efficiency by providing them real-time about who's paid and who hasn't in each lot. Sourcing payments from the most payment providers in the industry, including Parkmobile, T2, Parkwhiz, Parkeon, LAZGo, and more, Spotwise not only provides the best user-experience for auditors, but gives managers and owners powerful insights into auditor performance. As COO, my duties spanned just about everything but software development, including leading sales, marketing, partner management, customer training, finance & accounting, payroll, and legal. I also had a key role in product development by leading voice of the customer outreach during our "pivot." Interesting fact: There are as many as 2 BILLION parking spaces in the US, according to a 2012 M.I.T. study.In 2019, the software was acquired by the Southeast's largest parking enforcement firm.

In this intrapreneurial role, I was Schneider Electric's first proposal manager for a new federal segment. I contributed to business development activities within the federal Energy Savings Performance Contract (ESPC) market by leading the proposal writing and proposal management roles. Proposals often had short timelines, requiring close management of scope, schedule, and budget. To scale our success, I established processes, procedures, and repositories to streamline the operation and increase win rate. In 2.5 years, I grew the team from one (myself) to 6 members while improving win rate from 10% to an industry-leading 35%. This contributed to sales growth from $10M to $30M in the same time period.
